Activities

Pinewood Derby

The pinewood derby is one of the most popular and successful family activities in Cub Scouting. Pinewood derby cars are small wooden models that boys make with help from their families and then race in competition. The cars are powered by gravity and run down a regulation track. The pinewood derby is an annual event. Every boy can design and build his own "grand prix" car to enter in the race. Click here for Pinewood Derby rules.

Raingutter Regatta

The raingutter regatta, in which boats race along a narrow channel/ raingutter, is another favorite activity for the Scouts. Our wind-powered version uses sailboat designs, and the boats are blown down the channel. Click here for Regatta rules.

Blue & Gold

The Blue and Gold Banquets celebrates the birthday of Cub Scouts. We have a family style dinner in February to celebrate. This is also the time when Webelos II cross over to the Boy Scouts. This is a fun event, which includes the whole family.

Camping

Each spring we camp for one night at Beaumont Scout Camp in Rockville/Ashtabula County. The day and night events include bb gun target practice, fishing and archery. This is always a favorite for the scouts.

Pool Party

We have an annual pool party for the Pack and their families. This is among our summer time activities.

Other

In addition to the above events we alternate other fun activities and overnighters. They include sleepovers at the Cleveland Zoo, a trip to the USS Little Rock in Buffalo, NY and the Great Lakes Science Center.

Popcorn Sale

In order to raise funds for the Pack and to reduce costs for all of these fun activities we have an annual popcorn sale. It begins in September. For more information on popcorn sales click here.
